My name is Andrea Pinto. I was born and raised in Brazil. Ever since I was a little girl I have been passionate about food. Although never allowed in my Mom’s kitchen as a child, I always found a way to cook outside of the house playing with my cousins, and putting together a little brick stove and cooking inside tin cans (dangerous…OMG).
I came to the United States when I was 20 years old. Three years later, I got married and had two girls, twelve years apart. I always liked to try new things in the kitchen. I was known for cooking at every birthday party, from candies and cake to the whole dinner. Although I love the fact that everyone liked the food, I felt it wasn’t enough. I needed to learn more. I wanted to know more about food, not just the cooking part but the basics, for example: How does baking work? What is the reason we add salt in bread? How does the yeast work?
So when my older daughter graduated from college, I decided to go back to school and fulfill my dream of graduating from the Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in 2012.One of the best decisions I made in my life.
Through this blog I want to share with you my passion for food and everything that surrounds making day-to-day meals, fancy dinners, and various features to make every meal unique in their own way. I also want to share with you my special people, my two daughters, who make my life complete.
I would love to have you as a part of this community – leave comments and please share your dishes. I would love to learn more about you as you learn a little about me in every post.
